Athens custom painted system
Radon exhaust pipes and fan covers can be painted to complement the color scheme of a home. While this homeowner did not have us install a fan cover, they did elect to have their exhaust pipe painted close to the color of their trim and gutter work.
Historic Home Radon Mitigation in Athens
The owner of a historic home in Five Points wanted to get their radon levels as low as possible. Georgia Radon Defense was called to install a mitigation system in an encapsulated cellar. The solution the owner chose was submembrane depressurization, in which radon gas is pulled out from underneath a sealed liner and ventilated safely to the outside using a specialized fan. The owner chose an exterior aesthetic package, in which the fan and exhaust system are mounted on an outside wall with an integrated fan cover. Fan covers and pipes can be painted to match the home's trim.
Exterior Aesthetic System in Athens
A customer with radon levels slightly higher than the EPA threshold of 4 pCi/L initially chose to have Georgia Radon Defense install a Breathe EZ air cleaner, which effectively filters radon decay products and other contaminants from the air. They were happy with our service, and wanted to hire us again to take additional measures to reduce their radon levels by installing a mitigation system.
Our technicians completed the work in one morning, and within a few days, the customer's radon monitor was showing levels around 2 pCi/L, a dramatic improvement.

Radon Mitigation in Athens, GA
Holly B. has a home gym in her basement and she heard that some of her neighbors had elevated radon and were installing mitigation systems. She lives in the Lexington Estates subdivision on the east side of Athens, GA. We tested for radon and the average concentration was over 5.0 pCi/L so we installed a radon mitigation system on the back corner of her home to reduce the radon to a level she was more comfortable with.
