Interior Aesthetic System in Monroe
Challenge
Georgia Radon Defense was contacted by a concerned homeowner in a new construction subdivision where we had already done successful mitigation work for a neighbor. Since the neighbor had found elevated radon levels, the homeowner wanted professional testing. We traveled to the property and used a CRM (Continuous Radon Monitor) to collect 48 hours of data on the average radon level in their recently finished basement and provide a report.
The CRM report demonstrated average radon levels above 14 pCi/L, far above the EPA mitigation threshold of 4 pCi/L. It was crucial for the homeowner to have a successful mitigation while preserving the appearance of their new home.
Solution
Georgia Radon Defense was able to design a virtually invisible interior aesthetic mitigation system that runs from an unfinished utility space in the basement up through wall cavities and into the attic, where a specialized radon fan exhausts the gas through the roof.
